Dr. Elizabeth Wakefield is a biological anthropologist at Ðǿմ«Ã½ specializing in biological and forensic anthropology. She is dedicated to hands-on learning, mentoring undergraduate researchers, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Teaching Interests

Dr. Wakefield’s teaching interests include human osteology, forensic anthropology, paleoepidemiology, public health, and bioarchaeology, with an emphasis on experiential learning and interdisciplinary approaches to studying human biology and disease.

Research Interests

Dr. Wakefield’s research explores past health and disease, especially diseases of contact in the American South, while integrating stable isotope analysis, environmental anthropology, public health, and forensic entomology.
